I photographed this style outlier a week or two back while going to get lunch at work. What I loved about him was his absolute layering skills – I can really take some lessons! I specially loved the play on different textures in his look – mixing leather and denim together keeps you perfectly warm in the windy city without sacrificing the style factor. Also love the little details of the folded cuff and the bracelet.

Anyhow … I have been extremely busy at work and at home with non-blog related things and haven’t been updating my blog as much as I would’ve liked to. Today I woke up at 2 PM and feels good to have caught up on my sleep – I have been functioning on 4-6 hours of sleep lately. If you know me in person, you know that if I had to give up one thing in life – it would NOT be sleep. [Ok, few other stuff too but...] I love staying up very late and waking up late. Moving on … next few weeks are also going to be slightly busy but not as bad as the past week. I am so looking forward to the few days that I get off for Christmas! So excited to see some of my favorite people from college. More on that later! Enjoy your weekend~

This is Salomé from Georgia [the country] and I spotted her while she was visiting Chicago. I had walked around for a while that afternoon looking for style outliers but the hunt wasn’t very successful. As I was just crossing the street to go back to work, I saw Salomé … I took a couple of pictures, chatted for a bit and I went back to my desk happy! I love how she incorporated pieces in different shades of the same color in her outfit. The folded cuff details on the sleeves add extra interest. Overall, it’s a perfect outfit for a tourist – the relaxed pants and boots keep it comfy so you can stroll around the city as much as you like and the accessories gives you the chic and polished look.

Sheer fabrics are always great for the summer but I am never sure what to do with them in the fall. While wandering in Wicker Park, I ran into this lovely style outlier and saw how she turned a simple sheer dress into a chic transition outfit with some nice lightweight layering. I really loved how she combined the pieces in warm shades of  brown with the sheer black dress.
